As a Past President of the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, it was my privilege, in collaboration with another Past President, to plan and design the space for our new Texas Chapter office when it was relocated. Our challenge was to incorporate into a small space equipment, furnishings and storage for one of the largest chapters in the nation in order for our Chapter to meet on a regular basis and also to accommodate occasional National ASID venues in this region of the state. As representatives of our industry, the incorporation of building codes, Texas Accessibility Standards and health, safety and welfare standards was paramount in the planning process for the project. The reflection of good standards of design was clearly a goal.
